From the first brick to the front door.

Clay brick walls rise on the slab. Every opening is already where a window will be.

Week 3

A second storey

Concrete ring beams tie the ground floor together and carry the upper floor and its balcony.

Week 5

The roof goes on

Timber rafters span the house. The flat roof is sheathed, insulated and sealed before the first rain.

Week 8

Larch and glass

Untreated larch wraps the upper floor. Triple-glazed windows fill every opening, floor to ceiling.

Week 11

Weather-tight

White render below, a dark roof edge above. The shell is finished and the inside work begins.

Week 14

Move in

Turf rolls out, the path is laid and the keys change hands. Home.
